Dream stands for Digital Reference of Experiments and Assessments Manager. It is a Web-based research platform application used for development, cognitive, and educational psychology research experiments. Dream features a collection of cognitive assessments, video games, simulations, and surveys that help researchers collect data.
I'm involved in the initial stage of building the platform, employing React along with Sass to construct the platform structures based on the design of one of the lab members. Then, we moved to complete the interactions using Javascript and other essential tools to achieve the platform's functionalities, like collecting data and inputs.
Through this, I gained a lot of experience working on a functional web platform suitable for providing interactions for a group of different users; I also grew to understand UI/UX better as we need to take into consideration the feedback from our users: the website has to be thorough as well as easy to use. Moreover, working in a group setting, I got the opportunity to cooperate with other lab members, discussing our ideas, helping one another, and finally solving problems.
